Bellwether is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This policy describes how we handle information in the Bellwether mobile application.
We generate a unique, anonymous identifier (Device ID) on first launch. This is stored in your device's local storage to preserve your followed races and settings.
If you choose to enable push notifications, we generate an anonymous push notification token. This token, along with your platform (iOS/Android) and subscription choices, is transmitted to and stored on our secure database servers to deliver real-time results.
When using map services, location data may be used client-side to center the view or locate your home precinct. Location coordinates are processed exclusively on your device and are never uploaded or saved to any server.
Maps you create in The Lab, including favorites, are stored only on your device. If you choose Save Image when sharing a map, the picture is added to your Photos library; Bellwether never reads your existing photos, and saved or shared maps are not uploaded to our servers.
We integrate with several third-party services to deliver key features. These services may process standard network metadata (such as IP addresses) during connections:
You can stop receiving push notifications at any time by disabling notification permissions in your device settings or removing races from your Following list. Unfollowing all races clears your subscription settings from our database.
The app is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
